The Midnight Taiko Kai - taiko with spirit

We are a group of taiko drummers, spreading our love of the art of Japanese drumming in the city of Calgary, Alberta. We are committed to challenging ourselves and improving individually while working together, as a team, respecting the abilities and efforts of each member. Our goal is to ignite the passion of those around us with our love of taiko!

The group is so named because we are so very passionate about good taiko and would gladly stay up all night playing!

Workshops 2012- Beginner

Cost: $50 per person, or $40 for CJCA Members (Proof of Membership required)

Details:

The workshops are two and a half hours each and will include information about taiko, basics of taiko and two pieces of music. For those of you interested in an apprenticeship, please remember that taking one of our workshops is a requirement to the apprenticeship application.

You must be 18 or older to attend the workshop on your own. Anyone between the ages of 10 and 18 may attend if a parent or guardian is also taking the same workshop.
Unfortunately, we are not currently equipped to provide workshops for those under 10.
Please sign up quickly to reserve your spot. Once a spot has been reserved, we require that a cheque be received about a week after your registration in order to confirm your spot.

All workshops use a similar curriculum, but each will have a different piece taught in the second half of the class.
