The Midnight Taiko Kai - taiko with spirit

We are a group of taiko drummers, spreading our love of the art of Japanese drumming in the city of Calgary, Alberta. We are committed to challenging ourselves and improving individually while working together, as a team, respecting the abilities and efforts of each member. Our goal is to ignite the passion of those around us with our love of taiko!

The group is so named because we are so very passionate about good taiko and would gladly stay up all night playing!

May 2010 - Otafest Anime Festival Performace

We have once again been asked to perform at Otafest Anime Festival, the Calgary Japanese Anime convention.
Please come by and see us at the University of Calgary on May 22!

April 2009 - Workshop/Information Exchange with Kita no Taiko (Edmonton, AB)

A few of our members went up to Edmonton for the weekend and spent many fun filled hours drumming with Kita no Taiko, learning what we can (thanks for letting us pick your brains KnT!) and exchanging information on the joy of taiko.

July 2008 - Taiko Exchange/Jamming with BIO Taiko (Toronto, ON), and Icho Daiko (Cleveland, OH)

One of our members spent the Canada Day/Independence Day weekend visiting and jamming with these groups to share ideas, drills, songs, and as a way to connect to other taiko groups in North America.
